There are really but two atoms: Land and man. Land
has a very special status indeed as one of the two atoms in
economics. It is quite amazing that anyone could see this
facts in any other way. But that is, I think, a big part of the
controversy. Yet even that does not explain the current
"profession". For the biggest problem in neonomics is the
lack of an agreed upon goal. For me the proper goal
of _real_ economics is the continuing satisfaction of man's
desires with as little pain, suffering, toil, and hunger as possible.
That is why we create "capital". It is why we participate
in the division and specialization of land and labor. But
the current "profession" _seems_ to be about other things.
The current profession is either measuring the wrong stuff
or the current profession has some goal other than the
minimization of toil and suffering.
