These obscene retirement level for such as prison guards, half
tax free at that, are bankrupting california citys and the
state...
some of these packages are worth over 7 million dollars
depending on how long the snivel servants spouse lives.
Diasbility and pension fraud in Calif civil service and the
CHP detailed.
last part of the article mentions pensions in the 100,000 to
200,000 dollar year range.
documenting links included.

read all of the retirement related articles and the links..
some regular, high school graduate level fire fighters in San
Diego calif are earning over 170k a year.. state law requires
that these be retired at 90% of last years income.. that will
be 153k or so.
Same with police. CHP and many court employees.
In NYC its 100% of last years pay for retirement after 30
years service (at age 51)
Thats true for fire, police, sherifs, CHP and others no
doubt.
For others, the majority of civil servants its 60% of last
years pay... with many of these long on record for taking
workmans comp time off, so the last year people make much more
money and still retire at over 100K.
The governor of calif has put that on a voters referendum for
this fall. Its been in the news, one hospital guard 'earned'
158k in SF last year, he will retire if this was his last year
at 135k or so.
