Shanghai's Development

I read an article in Business Week magazine a couple of months ago
which talked about the dizzying development occuring in Shanghai. It
claimed that Shanghai's new Commercial Center is now larger than the
City of Chicago, and 15 years ago was rolling farmland. Coming from
the US, such a fast pace is incomprehendible. Does anyone have any
first-hand experience with this? I also heard that Shanghai is 10x the
size of Chicago, which is astounding. I believe Dubai is also on the
fast track of development, but Shanghai is sure to be a city to watch
in the future. Anyone with first hand knowledge, I would be interested
in your thoughts.
