What is the asset:debt ratio in the US?

Hi,
many people have little to save after paying the bills every month
or so I've heard. Many also carry credit card or some debt or another.
But the average person in the US is supposedly asset rich (i.e. owns
his own home/car..etc).
What is the asset:debt ratio of the average middle income or upper
middle income person in the US?
