You should try reading his book

"Democracy- The God that failed"

before you laugh. For an economic perspective, his argument is
impeccable. History shows us that after 3000 years of economic advance,
democracy have set us back by centuries, if not more than a milennium.
This is measured by the human time preference, which is mirrored in the
various interest rates. With the come of democracy, the socialist
electorate has balooned and displaced traditional liberal-valued
politicians greatly, with an explosive growth of the state apparatus to
follow. But since you say you've been reading Mises from when I was in
diapers, I'm sure you know the rest of the facts?

If not, buy his book. It's not that expensive, and it's a good read.
