Scores killed in sectarian fighting.
The article is interesting for a couple of reasons.
1. A "transitional goverment" is forming as the result of alliances
between feuding warlords. This is the realization of the prediction
made by Robert Nozick in Anarchy State and Utopia - that anarchy is
inherently unstable and that private protection agencies (e.g.,
warlords) will combine to establish monopolies of force over a given
geography, thus forming de facto governments.
2. Hobbes was essentially correct - in the absense of government, there
will be "war of every man against every man" and life will be
"solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short".
Looks like Al Qaeda is increasing their presence in Somalia as well,
unfortunately.
