Master in Applied Economics, MBA

Hi,

I have been in IT industry almost 3 years. I am very interested in
economics esp. after I self-studied some CFA materials. Among all of
its books, the economics chapters interest me the most. I am going to
take a master's degree, and I decide not to take another IT any more(i
don't see any value added to my career), but can't decide which suits
me, Master in AE or an MBA.

I am more interested in the economics that is related to the real world
than all the abstract theories only bothered by the research papers, so
I eyed on the Applied Econ. I don't have any intention to continue with
a PhD.

In the local university in Singapore, they have a Master of Social
Sciences in ME. Note it is not MSc, it requires neither GMAT nor GRE,
and the tuition fee is significanly lower than another university offer
of MSc in AE. (I can even take it full-time without major financial
burden). What can be the difference and career impact between MSSc and
MSc? does the tuition fee difference really mean something in the
quality of the degrees?

Another choice is the MBA. but at this moment I can't make a decision
on the AE or MBA. The MBA is believed, well commonly, to be better in
career advances. I gotta wait longer to take the MBA because I gotta
score the GMAT first and more importantly save enough $$.

Any advices from the pundits here?

.
