Re: Master in Applied Economics, MBA

Hi, You'll need a good grounding in statistics and linear algebra will help as well. I presume you've studied these.

I cannot over-emphasize the importance of a program that requires you to carry out a major research project. One where you have to formulate an interesting question, conduct a literature review, gather data, analyse and interpret the data, and then discuss their implications. All this culminating in a major report/thesis of, say, 70 to 80 pages. This will make you a much more marketable to potential employers.

(Perhaps other sci.econ regulars can chime in with their opinions.)

I would recommend a program having that requirement over course work only. It looks like the second school (the more expensive unfortunately) best meets that requirement.

I would recommend something like this: http://www.smu.edu.sg/msc/programme_research.asp

But your mileage may vary

Good luck,
Mike

Topics such as macro/micro economics, interest rate, exchange rate, how

price elasticity in competitive and monopolistic economies, various
bell curves etc. I can't remember all the topics as I did it almost 1
year ago, but I clearly know the economics book among all 6 books
interested me the most, and is what I understood the most. There was a
lot of maths and calculations, but I don't think they are big problems
to me, as I have a rather solid math background and took math course
such as calculus/advanced calulus during Computer Science study.

The website of Master of Social Sciences in AE is

The website of MSc in AE which has much higher tuition fee and offered
by a relatively new university is:
