One big, wrong notion that is holding back good discussion about
retirement is the fixed idea that social security must be funded by
payroll deductions. There are many other , better ways. For example,
the dreaded "Worker/Retiree" ratio. Workers pay for social
security....naw! - Increased productivity can pay for social security.
As computers and robots do more of the work they can pay for social
security. Humans will need to work less. Why not have computers and
robots pay for social security? One way to accomplish this is a tax on
computer and robot installations. You read it here :)
