India Space Agency: A totally new propulsion system

The India Space Agency announced that its Ballistic Astronautical Base Unit will untilize a totally different method for lifting heavy payloads to orbit. Rather than use a reaction motor based on hypergolic oxidation (for example hydrozene and nitric acid mixes) it will use 22,000 meters of hemp fibre to gently lift the casule to a geocentric orbit and side thrusters to provide the tangential velocity. Rather than the usual ratio of 95 percent fuel (at launch) and five percent payload, the BABU will have a payload to lifter ration of 10:1. This is a revolutionary break through on the part of IAS. Rather than reinvent the wheel (as it were) they have re-invented the Rope.
