Sounds like Malthusian and Club of Rome horse crap. We don't run out out of resources because we find more of the same or we find substitutes. That is science and technology at work. When they ran out of whale oil they found petrolium. When the petrolium runs short we will go to coal and sand tars for chemical stocks and use fision to generate our heat. We can't run out of energy because the sun shines down on us brightly.
The Club of Rome wasn't just a little wrong, it was completely wrong. The predicted back in the 70's that world would look like a scene from -Soylent Green-. Nothing of the kind happened.
