Huh? Both the state and the PDA get involved after the crime or breach
of contract has taken place. Their purpose is not so much defense or
retaliation as it is rectification. They order a judgement. There is
no way to _enforce_ that judgement without initiating force, however.
Nonsense. Me hiring a PDA to defend my property and punish criminals is
not intitiation of force, when a murderer comes into my home to kill me.
Property? Criminals? These things require _laws_ to define them. Who
passes these laws? What happens when one PDA recognizes something as a
crime and another does not, and the supposed victim is a subscriber to
the former PDA and the perpetrator to the latter? What happens when
two or more PDAs get into a dispute over the legitimate owner of a
particular piece of property? What prevents someone who possesses
wealth on the order of Bill Gates from hiring a super-PDA and arming it
to the teeth such that it can victimize members of any other PDA at
will? The concepts of private law enforcement and private judiciaries
operate on the same epistemological foundation as young earth
creationism - blind faith rather than reason or empirical evidence.
