He does have a point. Historically governments, no matter how promising their beginnings tend to corruption and tyranny. That is a matter of historical fact. It is also why there are revolutions from time to time.
The LVT, even if implemented virtuously, will over a period of time (probably a generation or two) become corrupt and anti-productive. That is the tendency with governments.
