The real problem is this: some jobs are cushy whereas some are
dirty/difficult/dangerous. So we need some measure of how yucky a job is
before we can tax the 'rent.'

Taxing the "rent" of productive ability is an idiotic notion that is
merely the logically inevitable result of trying to substitute a
dishonest and misleading definition of economic rent for the honest
and most theoretically informative one.

Yup. True economic rent is NEVER "earned".
