Property Address
2164 Bailey Avenue
Buffalo, New York 14211
I did some research.. this a 2 story multi-family dwelling, 6 bedrooms and
just over 2000 sqft, located in a run-down area of the inner city, and
valued on the tax roles at just over $15,000... I would speculate that Bob
hasn't had the least offer to purchase the property, isn't making a dime off
of renting, and wants out of the yearly tax burden.
How much can the taxes be on a property valued at $15K? Bob probably
hasn't been able to sell it because no real estate agent wants to list
it. Maybe it's rent-controlled, too?
Yearly taxes are $696 according to that site. I don't think I'd want to be a
landlord collecting rent in a neighborhood like that.
Unless you were a big one...
You can find prices like
that on the south side of Chicago and all over Detroit, too.
Yet they refuse to learn from Pittsburgh. Even _Pittsburgh_ refused
to learn from Pittsburgh!
Bit of a reality check for someone like me, living in a city where
$15K would be the down payment on a single-car garage in the worst
part of town...
You should check mls.ca for Winnipeg, Saskatoon, etc. You could buy 20 houses
there for what one would cost you on the west side of Vancouver. It's astounding.
Tell me about it. The average selling price for SFD homes on the West
side is well over $1M!! Even on the East side it is in the $500K
range. In many cases we are talking about 80-100-year-old houses on
33-foot lots.
