seekers?

In theory yes. This is one of the reasons an increase in minimum wage will
actually improve the economy.

After a rise in minimum wage, some workers having 2 or 3 jobs will be able
to afford to drop one of the jobs while maintaining the same spending
pattern as consumers. The new surplus of jobs on the market drive the rest
of the wages upwards, putting more money into the pockets of low income
consumers. This low income consumers are exactly the consumers that spend
all their income buying stuff and not gambling it on Wall Street or other
casinos. As a result of increasing the minimum wage, the consumer spending
(demand) grow pushing the economy to grow too.

Opposition against minimum wage it is mainly driven by an idiotic minority
of addicted gamblers. Nothing else.

Higher minimum wages like any increase in disposable income tends to be absorbed by landlords as rising rents.
