Income can't be recycled into "salaried" or "self-employment" income?
It would depend upon changes in tax laws over the last 90 years and how various forms of income are treated for tax purposes. I _believe_ it is cheaper (in Canada anyways) for a business owner to pay themselves a salary than to pay corporate income tax.
