Nope.

Because of perverse incentives (health care providers are paid for
_treatment_, not for successful long-term health outcomes) and information
asymmetries (not to mention the overall lack of evidence-based medicine in
the health care sector; the astounding ignorance of consumers (how many
people unnecessarily purchase hand soap with triclosan, for example?)), it
is next to impossible to create an efficient market for health care.

I wouldn't quite say _impossible_, but certainly "price competition" isn't
going to do it.
