Re: Are the Filthy Rich Necessary?

You tell us how your economic crime racket works,

No one makes you pay rent. No one makes you use their space and their
creation.

but just that it works doesn't mean it is desirable.

It's clear from roy that he wants what man made - not what nature made.

Land / space is not just another product, it is a raw resource.

And one of a fixed supply in an increasing demand environment.

What's your point.

What should be done with raw resources is that they need to be
distributed, so that people can then use them as starting
positions to develop economic initiative and compete.

And that was done hundreds or thousands of years ago.

What you and roy seem to be wanting is a reshuffling of the deck and a "new
deal" (hey, a democratic initiative).

What they don't need, they can rent away, just like you are suggesting.

Where we are at today is the result of all that happened hundreds or
thousands of years ago - depending on what part of the world you are talking
about.

But this would be a right for everyone, only those that want
more then they already have will need to rent. Then you have
a level playing field in the economy between everyone.

So you feel that you need to have a "do over". In golf they call those
mulligans.

There are no mulligans in life.

You don't get a "do over" if you screw it up - and yes, the screw up may
have been made by some relative of yours many generations ago - who had the
chance to get land - may have even HAD land - and pissed it away.

You know that in any "do over" that in quick order there would be many who
pissed away that which they were given (it's not earned you see).

The result of a "do over" is that in 500 years, we're right where we're at
today, with another bozo loser wanting a "do over" because they're too lazy
and not diciplined enough to better themselves.

What you are doing is thinking we are already there,

Been there - done passed it decades ago.

because everyone would have a patch of resources to make
the best out of it.

Hundreds of years ago there was this opportunity - and your
great-great-great grandfather screwed it up.

Get over it.

If then you build up infrastructure and housing in your area,

Great then. Nuke the entire world flat, and start with raw land.

Otherwise you will give an economic benefit to someone just from the fact
that there exists infrastructure and housing already - I told you we''ve
been down this road already - hundreds if not thousands of years ago.

then that would be a correct economic system.

We're already there.

If you don't like what they have to offer, go elsewhere.

If you think you can do better - go ahead.

Maybe you can build a better community. Maybe not.

Move to Kansas. Get free land. Build the comunity YOU envision. Get back
with me on how that works.

The key here is to do it in such a way that neither the rent taker
nor giver has a power edge over the other that can be exploited.

"There's a sucker born every minute"

<<<<<<Fast forward>>>>>>>>

It can be done and it makes economic sense.

It's already been done.

Apparently you don't understand the economic impact of the events of what we
call civilization.

All of what you seek was done hundreds and thousands of years ago.

You were just born too late.
