Oh and universal remotes are ten bucks cheap. Job done. You lose.
EndOfLine...

I've picked them up here for $5! They work ok for about a year or so.
Biggest problem I have is when eating potato chips or something with any
slight grease to it, and forgetting to wipe the fingers clean, the grease
gets down inside the buttons. That can be cleaned up. Then there is the
heavy use of it by a channel hopping relative which kills the batteries
quicker than expected. But for a years use out of a $5-$10 item - sure beats
trying to repair a remote. Been there done that - SUCH A WASTE. By the time
you get done screwing around buying the compound via mail (shipping isn't
cheap) or store (gas/wear and tear on vehicle) - doing the task (your
time) - you've got well over $10 invested.

Just my own 2 cents from experience.
