I would think the SMC669 is probably a multi-IO chip, rather than a
part of the main chipset.
This URL suggests that the SMC669 may be the same device as the
FDC37C669:

The specs state that the SBC uses a 2-chip "I/O Chipset: NS PC97317 +
SMC669." However, the block diagram shows the PC97317 and 37C669
chips.
