I'm speaking of Dell laptop batt packs which use Lithium Ion cells, I
think. I think the Dell pack is intelligent, or has NV memory so that
even if you replace the cells, it won't work until you reset the memory.
The memory keeps track of the number of charges, and after a given
number of charges has occurred, it says NO MORE!
The pack I opened up used Sony cells. THey were welded to metal strips
and were connected in series and parallel.
