I'm not talking about logging into Google Groups, I'm talking about
the tens of thousands of real usenet news servers. Earthlink, for
example, is displaying your full email address as I type this reply.
Tell me, why would ANYONE try to harvest Email addresses through a slow
and clumsy HTML portal when the raw data is out there? They download the
headers for a newsgroup, run it through the spambot and move on to the
next newsgroup. The harvesters sell the addresses to spammers, and even
SPAM the groups they have harvested in an attempt to sell more copies.
