Why would a CHINESE compnay offer a CHINESE data*** source for an Atmel
product unless it's a counterfeit ?

Seen lots of this recently from Chinese suppliers.

IIRC they don't have the highest clock speed variants. Maybe they got hold
of some old masks ?
