I lived for 25 years just down the street from Cocopah Elementary
School in Scottsdale, Arizona.
It always troubled me to watch out my window at the children trooping
to school... the kindergartners would have smiles on their faces and a
kick to their step, first graders less so, by third grade the kids all
looked glum. Our "educational" system impedes intellectual
development.
