The joke is that white LEDs are simply blue LEDs with an additional yellow
phosphor. Part of the blue output pumps the phosphor to emit yellow. The
combination of blue and its compliment (yellow) tricks the eye into making them
APPEAR white. This is why colour rendition of white LEDs is so bad.

Thus, it is impossible for a white LED to acts any differently than a blue one,
because it IS a blue LED!
