Electronic Buyer career

Im thinking of a career change. Ive currently been a test technician
for last 10 years. I was thinking of trying to advance my career, but
when looking at my old math books, calculus et al, I was thinking,
there must be easier ways of earning a good wage.

The buyers at my company have little or zero electronic knowledge but
earn considerably more than I.

I think I can do this job. I have a technical background with 10
years in the manufacture industry.

I will try and ask my company if their are junior buyer vacancies.

Im sure you guys have dealt with buyers/purchasers, any hints or tips
in this
career move?

Thanks
