Roger Gt, the reliable source of far-right mouth frothing. Amnesty
International has been around for around thirty years, writing letters
of support for non-violent political prisoners being held in countries
all around the world. IIRR the local groups always take on three
prisoners at a time - one in the west, one in the east (this used to
be the communist east and the capitalist west, but I don't know how
they formulate this today) and one in the third world.

They are perfectly entitled to question the U.S. bill of rights, which
doesn't seem to provide much protection for the objects of Dubbya's
ill-informed suspicions.

They are also perfectly entitled to object to the death penalty - no
system of justice is perfect, and the death penalty has a way of
making judicial errors irretrievable. Despite the claims of the
"pro-life" crowd, the death penalty is not a effective deterrent - the
sorts of impulsive nit-wits who commit murders don't look far enough
ahead for potential punihment to have any effect on their actions, and
this is pretty obvious from the statistics.
