Dear Ms. Dietrich,
I'm sorry they jumped on you. In this newsgroup we have a common problem
with people posting a difficult question and saying, "By the way, I won't
read your replies, so everybody, please go to the extra effort of e-mailing
them all to me." That is, they want us all to answer everything twice, once
in the discussion and once privately.
The way I understood it, when you said "I don't read this newsgroup" you
merely meant you hadn't been reading it until then. But others thought you
were demanding personal copies of everything.
Unfortunately I don't have any specific suggestions, but if you come back to
the newsgroup and read the replies, eventually somebody will say something
useful. Unfortunately, electronics newsgroups seem to contain a
considerable number of nuts!
Yours sincerely,
