One solution you might consider would be to (temporarily or not) uninstall
NAV, and install another virus checker such as Grisoft's AVG (which happens
to be both excellent and free for home use). Or run one of the various
online virus checkers. That'll help give you some confidence that your
problems don't stem from being currently infected.
