2 reasons: they don't work very well as a drop-in replacement
(especially with electrolytic capacitors) and more important, they are
unreliable. We have had a near 100% failure rate in over 100 units
when we used the Sipex part in a warm (40 degrees Celsius inside the
case) environment. No problems with the original Maxim parts.
