Wasn't there a TV show that started "We control the numerator and the
denominator"?

Rome said "You'd better do what we want or we will kill you with these
swords."[1]

The US said "You'd better do what we want or we will kill you with these
bombs."

Americans by their nature are not a war loving people but the list of
countries the US has attacked is quite a long one.
