I assume the above all refer to WW1 and WW2. The US was late in joining
both wars. In WW2 the US did not join until attacked. This seriously
undermines the claim. I think a much stronger reason for the US entering
either of the world wars was self interest. In both wars, Germany and/or
Japan was a threat to US interests.

I assume you mean WW2. for these. The Philipines was the reason I
suggested two would be needed. The others were important as part of the
war against Japan. Denying them bases outside the home land was part of
the gradual choking that was done to them.
