Bob's got it right.
Daddy was a USAF pilot. We'd be watching some dumb movie on TV
where they were trying to do some nonsense at 20,000ft
and Daddy would roll his eyes and say, "PUT THE AIRCRAFT ON THE
GROUND".
There are all kinds of specialists there to deal with any kind of
problem.
Had secure cockpit doors (and protocols) been in place 9/11,
losses would have been limited to what could be done with box cutters.
All this other inconvenience they are putting us thru
(with no better results than they were getting 9/10/2001)
is unnecessary.
Just make it so that when there's trouble,
the pilot can and does put the aircraft on the ground.
