so? Im often eating fresh tomatoes and salad, theyr so easy to get from the
local supermarket or grocer any time of the year, I dont see any call for
iradiation here.

but maybe we are just more lucky here in the UK ? my local
grocer/supermarket is only a few minutes walk away.
Tescos even deliver to you door.

maybe if you were in space for a 10 year voyage to the next star system or
something ...
