Re: Filter Saturation



I have read in many papers on design of LNA and Mixer to reduce the DC
components at the output as these components might saturate the filters
following these stages. What is 'saturation' of filter?
Could anyone elaborate on this?

Unnecessary DC is generally only a problem if the current runs through a ferrite inductor or ferrite transformer winding. Ferrites can saturate and become non-linear when burdened with a hefty DC load.
