I suggest that you stop being such a horse's ass and pay attention to
what people are telling you about your nasty little posting tricks
instead of trying to squirm out of a situation where you're wrong by
trying to find "rules" which say you're right. You may have noticed
that 'netiquette' sounds a lot like 'etiquette', the reason being that
'etiquette' is the group of customs we generally adhere to on a
day-to-day basis off of the net and includes the courtesies we extend
to and niceties we offer each other in order to make life easier and
more pleasant. 'Netiquette' is much younger than etiquette, but still
is based on the same premise, basically that courtesy and kindness out
will result in courtesy and kindness back.

Part of that courtesy is to avoid creating confusion, and if by
changing the subject line of an old post and not referring to the old
one (while still maintaining the old content)in the new one you know
you will create cofusion (how could you truthfully assume
otherwise???) that's not a courteous act, and shows a lack of
etiquette or, in this case, 'netiquette'.

You may have noticed that one of the replies to your query indicated
that to include the 'was' and the old reference in the subject was
just common courtesy, and he was precisely right.

So, in your vain attempt to use 'rules' to justify away your rudeness
you have hoisted yourself on your own petard. Excellent!!!
