Actually ours will go down a bit ON AVERAGE. We'll become a two-class society... you and I will be fine, but we'll have a lot more poor people to contend with... probably need bodyguards to escort us to the mall ;-)
When I look at the number of high school drop-outs and folks in their late 20's who never held down a job I am afraid you are right. The really sad news is that many of them will never be able to get a job because they can't pass the drug test.
Our standard will go down as well though. Partly because rising wages in Asia will mean that the stuff at the mall becomes more expensive, partly because the Dollar might slide down further. Latest at the minute when the Chinese finally allow the Yuan to become truly a free-market currency. No more $19.95 WLAN cards.
Then there is the cost for that bodyguard which puts a crimp into disposable income ;-)
