On the CO2 you & I are basically fugged:

If you people do not burn the Oil, the Chinese certainly will and having
access to cheap energy they will have higher growth rates than you guys and
become the dominant superpower a lot sooner than the 30-60 years time they
are currently running for. That would not be in the strategic interests of
the US. Burning other peoples Oil to keep the competition down *is*.

So nothing will change, the US will remain best buddies with the Saudi
science-less-Nazis and we will send loads of Oil-money to support Wahhabism
around the globe and loads more Millitary-money to smash it around the
globe.

Unless the energy game is changed by new developments - the stone age did
not end for lack of stones.
