Wow! I think you're the only one who thinks so. ...in the opposition, no less. I don't know how their doing. Too far away to judge, but there are reports of monumentally *dumb* things the local authorities have pulled (like turning back the 22 VA(?) sheriff's deputies who volunteered to help out in Mississippi).

I know Arizona (Maricopa County) sent a bunch of deputies, but I think
it was to Biloxi.

We also sent a search and rescue team with trained dogs, which were
ignored by the locals until the Army took over control.

What is really ironic about this is that FEMA is presently running every volunteer fire department in the country over the coals over their new ICS system. Each fireman has to newly spend many hours getting certified to meet their new total bull*** and utterly worthless requirements.

All the while FEMA totally blows incident command in the south.
