Jim, please don't top-post. It is really annoying.
I am not an expert on California Law, but there are two things I am sure
of:
1) You cannot drive to SFO from San Francisco without leaving San
Francisco.
2) The USPS considers the post office at SFO to be a San Francisco address.
Try this:
Go to www.usps.gov
Click on the post office finder link (near the top).
Enter SF for city, CA for state, and 94128 for zip code. Then find a post
office.
One of the post offices that shows up is the airport mail center. The
full address is:
660 W Field Rd
San Francisco, CA 94128
Click on the map link for that entry. It clearly shows that post office
being on the grounds of SFO.
Maybe there is some thin corridor of SF territory in the bay that makes
SFO contiguous with San Francisco. I don't know. But it certainly appears,
and I was always told, that SFO is legally part of San Francisco.
You can see that there is an SF police department at SFO, too, if you
search on line. But I won't bother to post the link, since this is easy
to verify.
