The local broadcast and print media is populated by nothing but
talking heads and morons. Since the data came from a "Ph.D." and I
didn't have the same degree, I couldn't possibly know anything.

The local paper was owned by the New York Times and they didn't have
anyone on staff with a science background, so they wouldn't listen.

The local radio stations weren't interested, and there were no local
TV stations along the route so they didn't care about it, as well. The
line was built anyway, even though there was vandalism during the
construction of the system, including someone ramming a car into one of
the prefab steel poles.
