Re: O.T. Arctic ice meltdown continues rapid pace

I read in sci.electronics.design that Winfield Hill <Winfield_member@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote (in <dhgnle010ld@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>) about 'O.T. Arctic ice meltdown continues rapid pace', on Thu, 29 Sep 2005:
Anchorage Daily News: "Arctic ice meltdown continues rapid pace"
http://www.adn.com/news/environment/story/7026392p-6929245c.html

"Considering the record low amounts of sea ice this year leading
up to the month of September, 2005 will almost certainly surpass
2002 as the lowest amount of ice cover in more than a century."

OTOH, press reports say a retired physicist, infra-red expert reports that a study of the absorption spectra of CO2, CH4 and H2O shows that only 15% of the present atmospheric CO2 is enough to absorb all the back-emitted IR from Earth that falls within the narrow absorption bands of the gas, so any increase in CO2 concentration above that 15% has no further effect on global warming. The same effect applies to CH4, but H2O has a much broader spectrum and the effect doesn't apply.

If the warming is indeed due to more H2O, it could be a runaway effect, for more warming means more sea-water evaporation. More atmospheric H2O would also make storms more severe, because there is more latent heat energy up there.

Noah, we need another Flood!
