There are useful definitions of addiction. Pretty much, you're
addicted if you are doing something that's not necessary, that is
harmful to yourself and to others, and you don't have the will power
to stop. Don't smoke for a day to see if you're addicted.

Correct. About 20% of lifetime smokers get lung cancer, so your risk
is moderate. Far fewer non-smokers get lung cancer.
