The prions from a mad cow seem to survive stuff that would kill just about anything else. IIRC: They remained dangerous even after an animal was burned and burried for some time.
The burning would have to be incomplete. The protein is heat resistant above 100 C but not at combustion temperatures.
Anthrax spores (anthrax is a bacterium) are very resistant and can survive burial for a very long time.
