OK, you can stay home in bed. You will never be _required_ to take a
trip to orbit. Some of us want to do more than just sit and watch TV
and eat junk food.
If you had a form, where you could answer the question:
"How would you rather your tax dollars be spent:
A: weapons of mass destruction, so that we can more effectively murder
more millions of people, or
B: Exploration, advancing the frontiers of Human Knowledge"
which would you pick?
And, make no mistake, the US has been stockpiling weapons of mass
destruction since they discovered the Atomic Bomb.
