"Thru" is just as incorrect in the US as anywhere else.
There is no need for argument. You asked a question, although it obviously
contains an implicit assumption, and I guess that could be considered a
statement, but certainly not an argument.
By the way, is "spelt" a correct conjugation of the verb "to spell" or is
it only a noun?
