It is not an issue at all - virtually everyone is a hypocrite if you look at everything they say and do, and that certainly applies to all politicians of all nationalities and all parties.

Discussing hypocrisy only makes sense when discussing particular issues or standpoints. Thus it makes sense to say the Bush administration is being hypocritical on the issue of torture, especially in light of Rice's speeches in Europe - simply saying that the Bush administration is hypocritical is a tautology.

And as for the usefulness or validity of ideas "from the other side" - if you can't see that "the other side" has valid points (even if you disagree with more than you agree) then you are no longer talking politics and rational discussions, but into the realms of religion and fanaticism.
