I must confess, I speak very little Tagalog or Cebuano.)

What's MIL btw?

Yup, the adobo and lechon are quite good. Although I stay away from
the dinuguan (blood pork stew).

One thing I must add to "The Good" part of American life that we take
for granted: hot water for showers. At my wife's parents' place,
showers are done by bucket. Here I was, boiling hot water in a kettle,
for mixing with the shower water... :)

Oh, and did I mention cooking is done with propane cylinders? Natural
gas infrastructure is lacking, at least in Mindanao (deep southern
Philippines).
