Try analysing your system....
Your sensor measures pressure at the input to the box. In electrical terms
you are measuring voltage. Your box is behaving as a capacitor. If I assume
that your box is vented then that represents a resistance, a loss.
Since you mention a large DC fan with a small box then I assume that they
are connected with a bit of tapered pipe with the big end at the fan and the
small end at the box. Pesumeably this is to filter pressure fluctuations
from the fan.
In this system air flow is equivalent to a current.
The bit of pipe is acting as an inductor.
So, electrically speaking, the thing that is dangled off the end of your fan
is

Where SP is your pressure sensor.
